I have notebook named acer aspire 4710. Sometimes the screen of my acer notebook goes whole white. When I have left the notebook for over 30 minutes or so, the screen goes blank. It suddenly display a white screen . This also happens at random times, sometimes white screen comes and it wont go away. Restarting the notebook seems to boot normally but the flaw repeats a few days later; my screen turns white again.
I found on many forum and blog in internet some people have got the same problem for their notebook acer product. Their notebook having the same white screen problem. I want to share my solution with everyone who might experiencing this problem.
One way to do that is unplug and remove the battery. Put the battery back in and turn it on again. This way maybe solve your white screen problem but you will lose your work and it was not save.
Other way to fix the problem you can set turnoff monitor after 1 min.

Here the step to set turnoff monitor for Windows XP

First click on the Start Button.

Then click on the Control Panel.

Double click on the Power Options icon to open the Power Options Properties Window.

In the Power Options Properties dialog box, click the Turn off monitor list

Click on the menu arrow to choose a specific time to turn off your monitor (example: 1 min). Set the time for both Plugged in and Running on batteries.

When satisfied, click on the OK button to close the Power Options Properties window.

Then close the Control Panel to return to your windows session.

Windows will now turn off your monitor according to the time setting specified.

Whenever white screen comes, leave every thing for 1 min. So that screen goes off. To reactivate your monitor, move your mouse, or press a key. You can get your normal screen back. This solution will work for you for a while. But this is not pemanently repair your problem. You can call Acer and repair your notebook in the Acer service. You still need a qualified person who knows how to open the monitor to repair the inside.
